Mobile Number Portability (MNP) means you can keep your current mobile telephone number if you decide to change from one service provider to another within an ECTEL region country (Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines). Switching providers does not mean having to inform everyone that your number has changed — it stays the same.
No. You cannot port your fixed or landline phone at this time. Fixed number portability will be launched at a later date. Mobile telephone numbers can only be ported to other mobile telephone service providers.
No. A number may only be ported within each ECTEL country. You cannot port your Grenada number to another island.
Post-paid customers: Your number must not be barred or suspended, and you must have no more than one unpaid bill past the due date, or your outstanding balance must not exceed your deposit.
Pre-paid customers: Your number must not be barred or suspended from making outgoing calls. Your account must remain active per your current provider's terms.
Only if your number has been barred or suspended for non-payment or another reason. Your new operator may also conduct credit checks and require a deposit before providing service.
As long as your number has not been barred or restricted from making outgoing calls, you are eligible for porting. You will still remain liable to pay any outstanding balance to your current provider.
There are no charges for you to port your number. All porting charges are met by the service providers. However, your current provider may charge for unlocking your handset. Check with them before starting the process.
You will receive a final bill for usage up to the time your number switches. If you have not completed a minimum contract term, you may need to pay the outstanding balance of monthly rentals. Investigate this with your current provider before switching.
The porting process should take one (1) business day (excluding weekends and public holidays) after the day you make the request. The only service disruption is the ~30 seconds it takes to swap your SIM card.
1. Photo ID — government-issued (passport, driver's licence)
2. Recent mobile bill (post-paid customers only) — name must match your ID
3. Your working handset with the number to be ported
You can cancel with no charge before you send the validation SMS to 77678. Once that SMS has been sent, the process cannot be aborted.
Yes. If your new provider fails to meet promised quality of service, you can reverse the port within 14 days. After that, you cannot port the same number again for 60 days. Your old provider is prohibited from contacting you to persuade you to return during that 60-day period.
Undelivered messages may be erased. You will lose your old voicemail, SMS, MMS and ancillary services, and will need to set these up again with Spice Mobile.
