For years, internet connectivity on Carriacou and Petite Martinique lagged behind mainland Grenada. Slow speeds, unreliable connections, and limited options made it difficult for residents to work remotely, access online education, or even stream entertainment. With the arrival of 4G LTE, everything changes.
Residents can now enjoy speeds of up to 10 Mbps with unlimited data, enough for HD video streaming, smooth video calls with family abroad, online learning, and running a home-based business. Whether you're in Hillsborough checking email, in Windward uploading photos, or on Petite Martinique making a WhatsApp video call, you'll experience a dramatic improvement in speed and reliability.
Tower Locations and Coverage
Spice Mobile has installed two new cell towers on Carriacou, strategically positioned to maximize coverage across the island:
- Hillsborough Tower: Located on the elevated ground above the capital town, this tower provides strong coverage across Hillsborough, Harvey Vale, Tyrrel Bay, and the southern half of the island. The harbour area and popular anchorage at Tyrrel Bay now have excellent signal for visiting yachters and locals alike.
- Bogles Tower: Positioned on the northern ridge, this tower covers Bogles, Windward, Dover, and the northern communities. It also provides line-of-sight coverage to Petite Martinique, ensuring both islands benefit from a single strategic installation.
Together, these two towers provide coverage to approximately 95% of the populated areas on both islands. Some very remote or deeply sheltered areas may experience weaker signals, but the vast majority of residents and visitors will have reliable 4G LTE access.
Available Plans and Devices
All of Spice Mobile's existing plans are available to Carriacou and Petite Martinique customers, including mobile phone plans, portable hotspot plans, and fixed wireless home internet. The same pricing applies across all three islands, so there's no premium for living outside the mainland.
For home internet, we recommend the Baicells Nova outdoor CPE for properties in areas with moderate signal, as the outdoor installation captures the strongest possible connection. In Hillsborough and other areas close to the towers, indoor devices like the Novatel T1114 work well.
SIM cards and devices are available at our partner location in Hillsborough. Installation for fixed wireless home internet can be scheduled by contacting our team, and a technician visits the island on a regular schedule.
